My Christian Reading 2019

Image from Pixnio

See what I've been reading about my spiritual and charismatic quest in 2019.

Here's what I've read in the order I read it. I also include some thoughts and links to book reviews I've written.

2019 Reading:
Title Notes
Life in the Spirit Seminar My wife and I attended this seminar at First UMC, Tulsa. It was very encouraging to hear testimonies of how others have encountered the Holy Spirit. This book is authored by Gary Moore, one of the early founders of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries - the Charismatic resource center of the Methodist Church
God's Generals The Revivalists This is the 3rd volume in Liardon's series titled "God's Generals"
Rees Howells: Intercessor WOW!!! Rees Howells was a power prayer intercessor and missionary. He was involved in the Welsh Revival and was an important prayer resource for Great Britain during WWII.
The New Wave of the Holy Spirit A very short read about the Holy Spirit by Dick Mills.
30 Days to Understanding the Bible: Unlock the Scriptures in 15 minutes a day This is a good survey book of the big themes and characters of the Bible.
Heroes of Hope: A Collection of Inspirational
How I Got To Raise The Dead One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
Healing & Demons One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
Pulling Down Strongholds One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
Holy Ghost Fire One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
The Glory & Power Of The Holy Spirit One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
Faith & Power One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
The Foundation For a Miracle Lifestyle: Godly Character One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
You Need Jesus One of eight booklets by David Hogan that I purchased from the Sid Roth show.
Life in the Spirit Books Volume 1: Encounter the Holy Spirit One of a series of devotionals on the Holy Spirit that I found at the Charisma Magazine store.
PACT to Go I was required to read this book when I volunteered to serve on a support team for missionary friends of mine. This book helped me to understand some of the challenges that missionaries (AKA cross-cultural workers) face and what I can do to help them stay the course.
The Word: Daily Devotional I found this devotional very helpful in my journey. Dick Mills looks at the Hebrew and Greek meaning within passages to help the reader understand the scripture more fully.
Imagine Heaven This was recommended to me through a church that will participate in "What's After ATX: 2020" - a citywide effort to reach Austin, TX and the surrounding area and help people understand who God is and why He loves us. This book specifically looks at near-death experiences and how they compare to what scripture has to say about Heaven. A very good read.
Bending Time: Accessing Heavenly Realities For Abundant Living An interesting concept that by first focusing on God, we can utilize His timelessness to our advantage and productivity.
Prophetic Company: the joyful journey toward building prophetic community
What's After Life?
Filming God: A Journey from Skepticism to Faith I've really enjoyed Darren Wilson's documentaries. In this book, he describes how he was called out of a skeptical faith to film God in action. I highly recommend this book.
Life in the Spirit Books Volume 2: In His Presence One of a series of devotionals on the Holy Spirit that I found at the Charisma Magazine store.
2000 Years Of Charismatic Christianity: A 21st century look at church history from a pentecostal/charismatic perspective This is a good survey of Holy Spirit power from the 1st Century to today. Most scholars are of the position that Holy Spirit power, revivals, and renewal have only come alive in the past 200 years, but Eddy Hyatt shows examples throughout history that the Holy Spirit has been alive and well amongst Christian believers. I highly recommend this book.
The Walk of the Spirit - The Walk of Power
Twelve Ordinary Men
