30 Days of Worship - Day 21 - June 21, 2023

Today I again step away from the Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) vein and instead, choose some more music from the band U2.

Today's two songs are overtly spiritual: Yahweh - the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and "40" a modern interpretation of Psalm 40: a psalm of David.

When I first came across this video, years ago, I was amazed that the power and presence of the Holy Spirit are evident through the crowd, who I'm sure are largely non-Christian, non-believer fans.

You may be offended.
You may feel this is all emotional and staged for entertainment.
However, I won't apologize.

The closer I've gotten to God, the more I've learned that He is full of surprises and seldom does things the way I want Him to.

I ask, that for the moment, you set aside your personal offense, your feelings of emotion or entertainment, and simply respond to the songs to God. You might just surprise yourself.

By the way, God invented emotions and frequently through scripture asks you to love Him with all your heart (aka spirit), all your mind (aka soul/emotions/will), and all your body (aka your physical self).

It is OK to worship with your emotions.
It is OK to experience God in the secular world.
He didn't create a division between sacred and secular, we did.

Here is U2 singing "Yahweh & 40"
