Have you ever been inspired to worship because of a dream? Or maybe even experienced worship in a dream? Today I will share a dream I had several years ago that included today's worship song.
In my dream, I was spending some time with my two oldest grandchildren. My grandson told me that he needed to go to the store to find a very specific toy. The three of us loaded up in the car and drove to a mall.
The store we needed to go to was a Target on the lower level of this mall. But it was the smallest Target store I've ever been in. The aisles were so narrow it was difficult to navigate a shopping cart. In fact, only one person could walk down an aisle at a time.
After fifteen or twenty minutes, we finally found the "toy aisle" and my grandson began searching for the toy that he needed. While he looked, I tuned into the music playing over the store speakers. I recognized it as Christian worship music and thought it interesting that Target would play that over their intercom.
When my grandson found the item he was looking for, he, my granddaughter and I made our way to the cash register, checked out, and made our way back out to the main mall.
Once outside Target, I heard that the Mall music was also a Christian song, "Throne Room".
My grandkids and I walked over to an escalator and a few steps ahead of us was Kim Walker-Smith, the singer of "Throne Room". I noticed that she was singing along with the PA music.
I nudged my granddaughter and said, "Hey, do you know who that woman is?"
"No, Pops, who is she?"
"She's the woman singing this song."
"Duh, Pops, of course, she's singing this song."
"No, she IS the woman singing this song."
"Yeah, Pops, I know, she is singing this song."
And, as they said the argument went on.

When we reached the top of the escalator, Kim was still a few steps ahead. She turned to look at me, smiled and winked, then ran off down the corridor at supernatural speed, and out of view. Just as the refrain in the song echoed, "I run to the throne room..."
What does this dream have to do with worship?
It's fun! In my opinion, worship should be fun. At least I hope it will be fun if we're going to do it for an eternity.

It's a mystery. In Matthew 13:11, Jesus explained to his disciples that he spoke in parables because the people couldn't understand. But that to his disciples it had been given to them to know the mysteries of God.
I was with my family. God's pursuit of you, me, and everyone else in humanity is because He desired a family. We are referred to as the children of God - the sons and daughters of the King. If we're not family, then why would He refer to us as His children?
To this day, Kim Walker-Smith's "Throne Room" has remained a song that speaks to my heart and sparks my imagination of experiencing the ultimate worship in God's own Throne Room.
Have fun as you worship today and imagine the Throne Room!!
