30 Days of Worship - Day 5 - June 5, 2023

Today, I'd like to simply present three people who pursued God's presence: Moses, Mary the sister of Martha, and John the disciple.

In Exodus 34:29 (NASB), because Moses spoke with God, his face shone.

In Numbers 12:6-8 (CEB), God reprimands Moses' siblings saying: 'Listen to my words: If there is a prophet of the LORD among you, I make myself known to him in visions. I speak to him in dreams. But not with my servant Moses. He has proved to be reliable with all my household. I speak with him face-to-face, visibly, not in riddles. He sees the LORD’s form. So why aren’t you afraid to criticize my servant Moses?'

Are we so close to the LORD that His presence shines through us?
Are we so close to the LORD that He speaks to us clearly?

In Luke 10:39 (NASB), we see a description of a woman named Mary seated at Jesus' feet. Apparently, He is teaching and she wants to be so close to Him as to not miss anything.

Are we so close to Jesus that we are at His feet, hanging on to everything that He has to impart to us?

Last is the image of John the Disciple, at the Last Supper, 'reclining on the bosom of Jesus' - John 13:23 (NASB).

Are we so close to Jesus that we can rest our heads on His chest?
Are we so close that we can hear His heartbeat?
Do we set aside our pursuit of all else so that we want to see His face, to be where He is, to hear His heart?

Today's worship song is "Leeland's - 'Where You Are"
As you listen to the song, imagine that God is so close that you begin to shine, to sit at his feet and hear His heartbeat.

If this short time of worship has touched you, in any way, please share it with a friend.
